About Me

Portrait of the Artist and Movie Buff: James E. CainI am a Saint Louis photographer who has been studying art my entire adult life.

Introduced to photography at a young age, I began my career shooting photos in my backyard.  My Dad, also an accomplished artist, enriched my early portfolio with unique, diverse photographic opportunities, including western vistas, Missouri wildlife, and subterranean caves.  My first camera, the Canon T-70, is still a personal favourite and remains in use.

Graduate of the University of Missouri-Rolla, majoring in graphic arts at St Louis Community College at Meramec, and a true Renaissance man, I have a passionate curiousity.  I carry with me significant aptitudes in literature, psychology, philosophy, computer science, and graphic arts that continue beyond my collegiate careers.

In 2000, I began painting professionally.  Since then, I have created over 100 pieces of original abstract art.  I have been extremely lucky to show my work to countless patrons and professionals.  Most importantly, I am very proud to support the St Louis community and sponsor the arts.

Currently, I live in St. Louis, study eastern philosophy, manage my own studio and work full time as a project manager for a very successful mid-sized webdesign company.
